Nature Center?
“We have our own Nature Center”, says Honey Bunches, “But here, you can’t hear the cars going by on the highway!” Growing up here, I had never really looked at it as a “Nature Center“, just as “the farm“. I guess if you added plank boardwalks and information stations, they would be pretty similar!
My wife likes to take walks, but last year the “scary cows” kept her from investigating this area of the property. The cows are currently in another pasture, allowing her and Scout to take a good look around.
This is the first time Scout got to see a pond since he was born. He tried fishing, but decided maybe he would have better luck if he tried locating them from the bank first!
Having fully investigated the pond, they headed for the timber. They were both excited to find a large hollow log on the ground. Scout sniffed it out to make sure there were no inhabitants. Honey Bunches took his word for it!
I spent my childhood poking around these parts. It’s really fulfilling to see someone else enjoying what this country life has to offer. While it’s hard to tell if Scout or Honey Bunches enjoy the walks more, it is obvious that I get great joy from it.
Follow Up To The Trivia Show
As some of you may have noticed, technical issues forced us to stop the trivia questions on the radio show last week. So here’s the deal. Tune in here this Sunday, the 24th, at 6:30 PM Central. I will be doing a short radio show and asking the trivia questions we missed last week. The questions will be about the Blind Pig And The Acorn web site. Here is the trick… Pay Attention heh heh!!! I will not be taking phone calls on the radio show. You will have to enter the answers in the comment sections of this post. (see the little number in a box up and to the right?), The first one to get an answer in will win a prize for each question.
Sorry if this causes any confusion. My remote location and limited access to the web caused issues with all the calls coming in last week. Listen to the radio show this Sunday and get some stuff!
