I made the mistake of bringing up my new banjo on Twitter and Facebook. This, of course, brought on the requests to hear me play it. The problem is, I don't know how to play it! I decided to document my progress by making a few videos. This is the first of the videos explaining a few things about the banjo and the guitar.

I imagine learning the banjo is challenging under any conditions, but learning the banjo when the techniques for playing the guitar are so firmly engrained in you mind must make it a little more difficult! None the less, it sounds like you are well on your way to becoming a bango picking fool

Thanks Penny! I have been pickin' around on a few simple songs, but the timing is definitely different. Poor Scout got tired of waiting for me to get done filming. I thought he deserved a little credit!
