Is Real Life Scarier Than Fiction?
Aside from the creepy Halloween stories, there are other strange things to report this week.
While loading a truck from a grain bin, a pully flew off and rolled down the hill. A stirring auger in the drying bin mysteriously bent requiring disassembly and a trip to a town 40 miles away… Whoops, getting ready to demolish that bridge over the Missouri River, make that 70 miles away!
Finally rounded up 40 calves to take to the vet. They all got shots, and the bulls go the “full” treatment. The next morning, one of the bigger (600lb) steers was dead as a doornail.
We did finally get started cuttin’ soybeans. At least for a couple hours. That stick that hit the header may have been a deer antler. 2 sections got knocked off the sickle. That’s OK, we will run and see if we have replacements… Never mind… pop up shower. Done cutting beans for now.
There seems to be plenty of bad mojo around here without Halloween being added in! I guess it’s just part of the season.

Good grief! Now it’s rain rain rain!
